Description

The two-semester course is aimed at teacher training students at lower and upper secondary level in advanced semesters and offers an introduction to current and historical methods of analysis in music theory. It aims at a critical and independent approach to current music analytical discourses in order to explore transfer possibilities in the school context and to gain routine in analyzing. In addition to an intensive study of secondary literature (partly in English), also from the school context, "analytical etudes" are therefore regularly played through and reflected upon. In this continuation semester, current methods of analysis will be studied in an overview and tested and discussed using a smaller, stylistically broad collection of pieces as examples. In addition to active participation and the "analytical etudes", the coursework consists of a written analysis including a reflection on the methods, which is presented and discussed in the seminar.
