Description

We will continue our examination of canonical and contemporary approaches to artistic research methodology and shed more light on these by discussing examples of best practice.
The focus will be on "figures of criticism in artistic research". Together we will examine central arguments of the current controversy and link them to overarching questions of the philosophy of science.
This approach aims to facilitate a self-critical and thus constructive reflection on methodology, which will have a positive impact on the respective research projects and approaches.

The seminar takes place exclusively online, via ZOOM.

It is open to doctoral students as well as Bachelor's and Master's students who are interested in artistic research.

Interest in the connection between theory and artistic practice, a presentation in the seminar and a written reflection are required to obtain credit points. Various approaches to theory work will be tested, including dialogical reading, clustering or AI-supported readings.

Optional participation without the awarding of credit points is also possible and will take place after consultation with the lecturer.
