- Description
The aim of the work is to raise musical awareness of how to listen as a musician:in a jazz ensemble, express your musical voice and communicate through playing. In addition, the specific functions of individual instruments in different jazz-style contexts are examined. How can a rhythm section play together in a harmonious and inspiring way?
One focus is on training perception and expressive possibilities when making music: What possibilities are there in the creative spaces between acting and interacting, soloing and accompanying, freedom and responsibility? In style-independent free improvisations, students develop the ability to spontaneously tell stories together. Jazz is to be discovered as a musical philosophy in joint discourses.
The music of specific composers such as Wayne Shorter, Bill Evans or Lennie Tristano is studied in each year.
