Exmatriculation

After the final examination, you will be de-registered and your studies will end at the end of the semester in which you take the final examination.

If you wish to end your studies earlier, this is possible on request at the end of the semester or on a date during the current semester (not retroactively).

Possible reasons for de-registration may include

• Change of subject/change of university
• Dropping out of studies
• Called up for military service

Please return your borrowed books etc. to the library before exmatriculation and hand in your key card.

Have the return confirmed and submit the completed proof of discharge, signed by the library or building services, together with the application for de-registration.

Note: Please fill in the proof of discharge with your details and have the form signed and stamped by the library and building services.

Please sign the printed and fully completed de-registration application form and send it with the proof of discharge as a scan to: rueckmeldung@hfmt.hamburg.de

• Will the semester contribution be refunded if I exmatriculate? Answer: Yes, if the semester contribution has already been paid for the coming semester, the refund can be made. Please state the account details for the refund in the e-mail you send us with your application.
• Who do I have to inform? Answer: Please inform all authorities independently about the end of your studies (family fund/child benefit, BAföG office, health insurance, immigration authorities, ...).
