The application period for the summer semester 2025 begins on 01.12.24 and ends on 10.01.25 (only applies to the postgraduate course Konzertexamen). For the winter semester 2025/26, the application period begins on 15.02.25 and ends on 01.04.25
For a successful application to the Instrumental Music Percussion course, the following steps are required within the application deadline:
- Receipt of online application incl. upload of supporting documents
- Receipt of application fee (payment information at the end of the completed online application)
Your application will only be considered if all the steps described have been completed in full within the application deadline and the online application and application fee have been received.

Bachelor's degree
Entrance examination requirements
The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination:
snare drum:
- short piece for rudiment
- short etude of your choice
Marimaphone/vibraphone:
- work of own choice (4-mallet technique)
Timpani:
- Etude/solo piece of own choice (2-4 timpani)
Setup (alternative to timpani):
- Piece of medium difficulty of own choice
For higher semesters, more difficult works
(also setup pieces: e.g. Xenakis, Volans, Globokar or similar) depending on the duration of study
The works do not have to be performed by heart.
To help you prepare for the exams in the subsidiary subjects of general music theory and aural training, we offer you some sample exams.
Master
Entrance examination requirements
The following works must be prepared as repertoire for the entrance examination:
- Solo program: duration approx. 45 minutes
(chamber music portion no more than one third - corresponding to the Bachelor's degree) - Solo concerto with orchestra
The works do not have to be performed from memory.
Concert exam
Information on the entrance examination for the percussion concert exam will follow.
