Most artists will take different paths in their professional lives after graduation in order to make a living from and with their music. The Dr. Langner Jazzmaster study programme offers the opportunity to professionalize in a chosen focus area alongside the artistic instrumental training. The specialization module comprises three semesters and is completed with a study project. In this module, one of currently 8 different profiles must be chosen. This module offers the opportunity to receive individual tuition in the chosen specialization from a lecturer of your choice or to work as a guest in study contexts that would otherwise be virtually inaccessible.

In this module, 10 ECTS must be acquired over the first 3 semesters.

The different focus areas that can be chosen in the Dr. Langner Jazzmaster are explained in detail below.

Jazzmaster exclusive seminars

In order to accompany students on their way to becoming independent jazz musicians, the program is supplemented by exclusive Master's seminars in small, practice-oriented learning groups on topics such as self- and project management, stage presence, band management, (online) marketing, Alexander technique, image development, and much more.

In addition, the diverse range of courses offered by the HfMT can be used to gain interdisciplinary inspiration for your own artistic work beyond your own spheres.
