Master Song Interpretation

Since the early classical period, all eras of music history have been reflected in the art song. The compositional combination of language, singing and piano music has classical traditions and continuities as well as diverse innovative aspects. The Master's degree course in Song Interpretation trains pianists and permanent song duos who can position the interpretation of the art song repertoire at a high artistic level with new conceptual ideas in musical life. The central artistic work on the art song repertoire is supplemented by projects and seminars accompanying the course, in which the focus is on artistic excellence with theoretical/scientific and practical reflections. Special emphasis is placed on the development of innovative concepts for combining classical and contemporary repertoire. The development of original program dramaturgies and presentation ideas plays an important role in opening up new audiences, networks and contexts for the "Lied" genre.

Concert exam Song Interpretation / Global Art Song

The Concert Examination Song Interpretation / Global Art Song course is aimed at excellent graduates of the Master's degree course in Song Interpretation. The focus of the artistic-pedagogical work is the innovative positioning of song interpretation under the aspect of global relevance. Special attention is paid to the expansion and re-evaluation of the conventional repertoire through non-European cultures, languages and compositional styles.
