Erasmus+ internship

Since 2019, the University of Music and Drama has been offering Bachelor's and Master's students as well as registered doctoral students financial support for an internship abroad in companies or organizations in other European countries as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

Through such an internship abroad, graduates can further their professional training, expand their intercultural skills, improve their own cooperation and communication skills and gain practical experience on the international job market. In principle, stays are possible in all Erasmus program countries and for both compulsory and voluntary internships lasting between two and four months.

The scholarship rates vary depending on the destination country and are between 400 and 520 euros per month. You can obtain an up-to-date overview of the program countries and the respective scholarship rates from the DAAD.

• EU internship contract between university, company and student
• Support during the internship by one contact person at the home university and one at the company
• Funding for additional costs incurred abroad (monthly mobility allowance)

• Enrollment at the Hamburg University of Music and Drama
• Full-time internship in a foreign company or partner institution (at least 35 hours / week)
• Internship duration of at least 60 days and a maximum of 4 months per academic year
• Sufficient language skills in the working language
• Multiple participation in the Erasmus+ program with a maximum duration of 12 months per study cycle is possible. If you have already participated in the Erasmus program in the past (internship or studies), you can be funded via Erasmus+ again.
• Internships in European institutions or organizations, national diplomatic representations and organizations that administer EU programmes are not eligible for funding.
• Whether an internship is paid for by the employer or not has no influence on the Erasmus+ funding.

Before you apply for funding for your internship, you must first look for an internship on your own initiative. Once you have been accepted for an internship, please apply as soon as possible and before the internship starts by sending the following documents (PDF) in an e-mail to  .

• Curriculum vitae in tabular form
• Europapass language passport
• Transcript of Records of previous studies at the HfMT
• Certificate of enrollment from the HfMT
• Learning Agreement (Part I)

Application phase I (for internships abroad in the winter semester):   01 May

Application phase II (for internships abroad in the summer semester):   01 December
