Dear friends of the HfMT,
Let's take a look at what our Advent calendar has in store for you. We have made every effort to include something for every taste. In keeping with the motto "more is more", we have also prepared more than 24 little doors. You never know, and that's the way it is when anticipation gets the better of you...
TRAVELING AND TREASURE HUNTING
"Sandy Island"
There's a little travel adventure, for example:
After exploring space in an artistic-mystical-mental-fantastic and diverse way with Space Journey in November, we are now going to places that don't actually exist or dealing with the phenomenon of a place that - between reality and representation - is basically the projection of its own absence. Everything clear so far? To be explored in greater depth in the audiovisual sound installation Sandy Islandwhich can be experienced all day at the Forum from December 1-3 and allows you as a visitor to become the protagonist of this production. more
And then there is the treasure hunt with Prof. Christoph Schickedanz, who, together with his violin class, will rummage for rarely heard violin concertos and present them in a studio concert. To kick off this newly created series, there will be something unheard of from Sweden by composers such as Joseph Martin Kraus, Franz Bärwald and Tor Aulin. The unknown violin concerto can be discovered on 16.12. to the event
FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 9 AND OVER AND 10 AND OVER...
Generation One - a theater game for young people aged 10 and over

We are showing two theater productions for young audiences in the run-up to Christmas: The Schauspielhaus attracts children aged 9 and over with the wonderful family play Lord of the Thieves based on the novel by the great children's and young adult author Cornelia Funke. Our second-year drama students will be performing alongside the SchauspielHaus ensemble and are already looking forward to the premiere on December 11th
No longer new and yet always different Generation One - a theater game for young people aged 10 and upin which the audience and performers design new ways of living and acting together on a fictional planet. The energetic play has been running since October. The next performance is on 6.12.
...AND FOR BIRTHDAY CHILDREN
Next year, the music world will be celebrating the Ligeti Year with numerous events in honor of the Austro-Hungarian composer György Ligeti, who would have turned one hundred years old in 2023. A little ahead of time, we are ringing in the celebrations with a first birthday serenade. "Rightly so!" we think. Because we have a special connection to this outstanding and pioneering composer, who held a professorship at the HfMT from 1973 to 1988.
The Ensemble 13/14 invites Prof. Tanja Becker-Bender and Prof. Szabolcs Zempleni as soloists on stage and presents the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, the Hamburg Concerto for Horn and Orchestra as well as a chamber concerto for 13 instrumentalists. The pre-celebration will take place on December 17 and 18. Further tributes will follow.
