In an interdisciplinary project, various specialist groups at the HfMT have taken on Monteverdi's Marian Vespers.
Shortly before Christmas, we opened a few doors to the rehearsal rooms and watched the ensembles at work. You can see a summary in our short Making Of Trailer.
Inspired? Then get tickets for one of the performances on January 18 or 19 in the Christianskirche Ottensen.
Or you could even be lucky in our prize draw: please send an email to veranstaltungen@hfmt-hamburg.de by January 12 with the subject line 'Marienvesper ticket draw' and your preferred date. We will raffle off 5 x 2 free tickets among the entries. The winners will be notified on January 13.
Good luck!
STAGE_2.0
Our largest and most important venue - the Forum - has arrived in the future. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, we have been presenting the full diversity of our artistic disciplines under the best possible acoustic conditions since the beginning of the year. A room that is suitable for everyone should be as versatile and flexible as possible. By installing the "Meyer Sound Constellation" system, the room acoustics can be precisely adapted to the specific requirements of each individual event.
This undertaking was realized as part of our "Stage_2.0" project, funded by the federal-state initiative "Innovative University".
On two consecutive concert evenings, we will present the entire spectrum of possibilities with a varied concert program. You can also get an impression of the other sub-projects of the "Innovative University" at a presentation in the foyer.
More detailed information and the thoughts of university president Prof. Elmar Lampson on the newly installed acoustic system can be found here.
MY HIGHLIGHT
Felix Stachelhaus
Foto: Natascha Töpp
Felix Stachelhaus grew up in the Ruhr area, studied percussion at the HfMT Cologne, followed by an International Master's degree in Contemporary Performance and Composition and is currently doing his second Master's degree in Composition with Prof. Dr. Gordon Kampe. His current focus is on experimental music theater formats, the relationship between art and economy and the search for the personal in music. He has arranged a version of Jacques Offenbach's "Belle Hélène" for chamber orchestra for the HfMT symphony orchestra. To be heard on January 21, 22 and 23.
"University of Music and Drama" is written above the entrance to our main building on Milchstraße. In everyday student life there, however, you might wonder where the "T" in the university abbreviation is actually to be found. It is such a great opportunity to have both art forms in one university, but the networking between the music students and the theater academy could be much stronger. I would like the musicians to go to the directing projects and the evenings of the drama classes. And that the theater students come to the viola evening, to the jazz composition graduation, to the concert of the ensemble for contemporary music. And that afterwards they will discuss, experiment and work together. Then the HfMT will really become a University of Music and Drama. So my recommendation to those of you who usually come to the concerts in the Milchstraße: why not check out an event at the Theaterakademie this month!
