OUTLOOK FOR JANUARY
Percussionist Samuel Wootton studies drums in the jazz department of the HfMT and presents his new band project ToyToy in his bachelor concert on January 23 at Uebel & Gefährlich.
His recommendation for January:
TILL EULENSPIEGEL, Ghosts of the Future 2019. I have always been fascinated by people who can tell stories. It fascinates me when thoughts, words or notes become something unique and special. For me, this only really happens when the storyteller speaks, plays or makes music with unconditional dedication. I sometimes miss this in concerts, but rarely in the theater (probably because I go to the theater less than to concerts). This unconditional dedication backstage and on stage of all those involved has impressed me greatly in my current theater experiences. I know that everyone involved in a production has to work incredibly intensively with the material, discuss it with each other and come closer to it. The result for us as the audience is, at best, simply a well-told story. We musicians in particular can learn an incredible amount about storytelling.
